The Petit Trianon Set

Watercolor florals and rocaille scrollwork on cream cotton sateen, edged with a deep ruffled trim. The pattern was drawn from the wallpapers of the Petit Trianon — Marie Antoinette's private retreat, the small house she kept to escape from being a queen.

We made it for the woman who closes her bedroom door at the end of the day and finally exhales.

The house behind the garden

Marie Antoinette built the Petit Trianon as a place to disappear. A small house tucked behind the formal gardens at Versailles, kept entirely for herself — no court, no protocol, no performance. She tended a working farm there. She wore simple dresses. She let herself exist as a woman, not a queen.

We chose this print because it carries the same intention: a private room to retreat into, where the romance is for yourself and no one else.
